Maxwell Thompson MD

Dr. Maxwell Thompson attended medical school and emergency medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at the University of California Irvine before returning to UAB as an Assistant Professor.  He has numerous publications.  His research interests include the application of point of care ultrasound to improve patient care and outcomes in the Emergency Department.  He has additional focus on incorporating point of care ultrasound into undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education.
