Dr. Mark Sapp graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and then completed his pediatric residency at New England Medical Center/Tufts University, Boston, MA. Dr. Sapp then completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell Medical Center, as well as a Neuro-Oncology fellowship at New York University. Following several years of practice at both NYU Medical Center and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, Dr. Sapp returned to Boston and complete fellowship training in both child advocacy and child abuse work. Dr. Sapp remainder on staff at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School until 2012 when he returned to his hometown of Huntsville to direct the newly formed pediatric hospitalist program at Women and Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sapp continued his work in the field of child abuse and neglect as a volunteer physician at the National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) from 2012-2019, though in September of 2019, Dr. Sapp became the first physician hired by NCAC to direct and grow the medical services provided to child victims of abuse and neglect for Huntsville and surrounding communities. Dr. Sapp has also continued his work at Women and Children’s Hospital as the Medical Director for the Women and Children’s Service lines.
